Position Details:
The RTC is a 24-hour, beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale. It is a safe, supportive environment that provides various services to youth, from the ages of five to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse challenges. The Campus features dormitories, a therapeutic K-12 day school, food services, medical/nursing, and therapy services.
As a Food Service Specialist (Cook), you will prepare all food items, manage food services operations and maintain the food service area in a clean, orderly and sanitary manner at the RTC facility. You will follow federal and state guidelines in the planning, preparing and serving of meals to clients and staff, as well as facilitate culinary group student classes and luncheons. The Food Service Specialist sets up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment, as well as prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.). This position ensures great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served, keeping a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen, ensures all food and other items are stored properly, and monitors stock and places orders when there are shortages.

Schedule: Wednesday 11:00am -7:00pm, Thursday 6:00am-2:00pm, Friday 5:00am - 1:00pm, Saturday 11:00am-7:00pm and Sunday 11:00am -7:00pm (subject to change)

Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- Minimum of one (1) year related experience in quantity cooking
- Have a valid Food Handlers card OR the ability to obtain one
- Record keeping experience and must be customer service oriented
Other
- Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 39-month history check
- Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (OR eligibility to obtain with no restrictions)
- Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
- Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
- Must be able to complete and provide proof of current influenza vaccination
- Must attend the one (1) week paid New Hire Orientation; Mon-Fri (8:30am-5:00pm) follow by 3 weeks of on the job training
- Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
