Located minutes from downtown Austin, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is a level IV Designated Trauma Center with more than 600 healthcare professionals working together to provide inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region.

We are seeking a Food Services Worker to join our team! The Food Services Worker rotates between Diet Clerk, Host, Cashier and Dishwasher related duties.

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver trays to patients and family members in a kind and timely manner
• Cafeteria set-up and service; receiving, cashiering; delivery food carts or late trays, dish or pot washing
• Assisting with catered events and other related department activities
• Processes diet orders from the order entry system
• Assists patients in their menu selections, either by phone or in person
• Accurately calculates diets
• Participates in patient tray making certain that all diets are assembled correctly
• Keeps a correct tally of patient meal counts, production sheets, and outgoing nourishments
• When assigned, assumes responsibility for catering, including delivery and proper set up
• When assigned, balances the cafeteria cash drawer
• May be required to open and close the Nutritional Services Department
• Other food and nutrition department related duties, as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Food Handler's Permit Required within 30 days of hire
• Hospital experience or experience in a large commercial kitchen highly desired
• Prefer quantity food production experience
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently with little or no supervision
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks well
• Ability to work productively in a team setting
• Basic understanding of normal and therapeutic diets and food safety
• Basic computer skills
• Good communication, both written and oral
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively
• Commitment to excellent customer service
