Summary/Objective

Software Engineer responsible for designing and developing web based full stack interfaces, user experience (UX) and front end applications to support systems used for communication systems products. The software engineer will develop, modify and maintain customized or standardized applications using software engineering best practices and standards, and participate in the full life cycle of software development, to include requirements development, modeling and design, application development, unit testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance. .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Working with other team members, analyze customer requirements and design front-end User Interface (UI), web-based full stack interfaces, user experience platforms.
• Design, develop, code, test and debug the software product.
• Maintain and improve the deployed releases.
• Analyze and enhance performance, efficiency, stability, and scalability of the graphical interface software.
• Analyze and estimate the development efforts for customer requests.
• Support customer events through remote control and possibly on-site presence
• Uses the latest developments for graphical interface software solutions

Competencies

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Python, JavaScript, C#, C++, REST, HTTPS and web sockets
• Development experience with ASP.net, Python or JavaScript based-frameworks
• Design and implementation of APIs and libraries
• Understanding of object-oriented programming
• Understanding of relational database
• SQL and SQLite Database Design & Implementation
• Network programming experience; SNMP & MIBs
• US Citizen
• Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment
• Ability to brief Customers on technical matters.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This position is primarily performed in a traditional office environment. Remote work is available for DMV or Florida locations ONLY.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Moderately strenuous lifting of up to 35 pounds to move computer equipment may also be required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full time, exempt position, working Monday through Friday; 40 hours per work week; occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Some flexibility in actual work hours may be offered.

Estimated travel is up to 25%

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field
• Bachelor Science Computer Science
• 5+ years’ experience in full stack web and front-end application development

Preferred Education/Experience

• Experience with Python Libraries; Pandas, NumPy, SciPy
• Experience in test automation using Python
• Understanding of network devices and protocols

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
