We are looking for a skilled Machinist to perform a variety of common machinery related tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Program and operate CNC machines to include 3-Axis machining centers and 2-Axis lathes.
  • Familiarity with programming and operating a rotary 4th axis.
  • Programming experience using Inventor HSM and/or similar CAD/CAM softwares.
  • Prior 3D modeling experience using Inventor, SolidWorks or Solid Edge would be helpful. Parts are often machined straight from solid models.
  • Ability to follow routed steps as outlined on part travelers.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems/processes is required.
  • Operate manual machine tools to include engine lathes, milling machines, grinders, and related equipment.
  • Ability to plan and determine setup procedures and operating sequences.
  • Proficient working independently doing machine set-ups.
  • Capable of setting up tools offline and in the machine control.
  • Ability to work from complex and involved sectionalized part drawings and specifications.
  • Experienced using precision measuring instruments and devices to validate part dimensions.
  • Safely use overhead cranes, gantry cranes, lift trucks, and associated lifting devices.
  • Understanding of GD&T principles.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and G-code programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Familiar with Haas, Fanuc, and ProtoTRAK machine controls.
  • Proven ability to work independently toward assigned goals and objectives.
  • Interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.).
  • Ability to use precision tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.) to take accurate measurements.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Vocational school training preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three to five years related experience and or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Emphasis on milling experience.
  • Knowledge of metal properties and other materials.
  • Strong mathematical skills and analytical abilities .
