Fund Development Specialist Job at Goodwill Northern Michigan

The Position

This position is located in the beautiful resort town of Traverse City, Michigan and our programs serve 19 Northern Michigan counties. The Fund Development Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of our fund development department and consults with the Chief Communications Officer on implementing department strategy.

The Duties and Qualifications
This role works directly with the Chief Communications Officer to ensure that accurate gift data and fund development records are kept, there is positive stakeholder understanding of Goodwill's fund development activities, and increased financial resources and community support.
Duties include planning, scheduling, implementing, and following up on fund development activities including meetings, events, asks, updates, and reports; researching donor prospects and grant opportunities; leading preparation and submission of major gift packets and grant applications; and leading gift receipting and stewardship efforts.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and outstanding administrative skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office. Previous experience in fund development a plus but not required. Candidates must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, be creative with analytical abilities, along with having extraordinary attention to detail. Additionally, this position requires the ability to oversee multiple projects at one time.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation for this position is based on experience with a range of $50,000 to $60,000 per year. We offer competitive benefits that include a retirement plan with match, group health plan, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off.
