Kelly Custom Furniture & Cabinetry is a long-established business (over 30 years) with a showroom and workshop in the historic Lawrenceville neighborhood in Pittsburgh. A creative job opportunity is currently available.
Kelly Custom Furniture & Cabinetry designs, builds, and installs custom casework for commercial businesses, nonprofit institutions, and residential homes, primarily in the Pittsburgh region, but also across the country from Seattle, Washington to Bar Harbor, Maine.
Currently there is an an opening in the finishing area. Primary job responsibilities include custom finishing—which includes the staining, painting, glazing, and clear-coating of custom furniture and cabinetry. Other duties include loading and unloading wood and finished cabinetry, the delivery and installation of completed projects to the customer’s home or business, and ordering supplies for projects.
This position provides an opportunity to learn furniture and cabinetry construction, woodworking, advanced techniques in finishing, and solving three-dimensional spacial design issues through creative thinking. A good sense of color and color theory is a plus.
