Convene, a global industry leader in premium meeting, event, flexible office, and membership spaces is seeking a General Manager who will lead the Operations team at our flagship location at 100 Stockton. This property will be Convene's first location in San Francisco and the General Manager will play a significant role in all functions related to a successful opening and daily operation. We are looking for a candidate who exemplifies a passion for Hospitality along with Food & Beverage Service and is a proponent of cultivating a positive and inclusive employee culture. In this role, the General Manager will partner with and report directly to the Regional VP of Operations.

Please note: the property is scheduled to open in October and we would like to have the General Manager begin in July.

What You'll Do:

The General Manager will be responsible for building our pre-opening team, operations processes, and will oversee all aspects of the property management while delivering a best-in-class hospitality experience to clients and guests.

The General Manager will oversee all aspects of Convene's meeting operations (hybrid and physical) at 100 Stockton, as well as direct, implement, and maintain the Service, AV/Technology, Event Operations, and Culinary philosophy. Additionally, the General Manager will be the driving force in creating a culture of positive and inclusive employee relations, ensuring high levels of service and engagement for the team.

This is an exciting opportunity to build and lead the operations team for Convene's first location in San Francisco.

  • Alongside the Regional VP of Operations, establish the strategic operating plan for Convene at 100 Stockton to achieve financial, quality goals and survey scores
  • Oversee the Service team (internal & 3rd party) including hiring, staffing, scheduling, training, payroll, coaching & mentoring
  • Build and foster a positive, healthy, and engaged team culture.
  • Drive financial decisions that positively impact the monthly P&L results; work closely with Sales, Revenue, Finance, AV/Technology and Corp Ops on monthly P&L review, monthly forecasting and annual budget process along with meeting KPI's
  • Oversee and coordinate the setup and execution of all functions with the Service, Event Operations, AV/Technology, Customer Success and Culinary departments at either single locations or multi-unit complexed locations
  • Work with Sales & Revenue team to ensure accuracy in Salesforce and strategic planning efforts to maximize space usage
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Understand & execute inventory, pars, production, cost controls, and end of month inventories
  • Manage property payroll and ensure all property payroll reports are accurate prior to approval and that all employees are compensated properly for their time
  • Reviews and maintains companies' goal for guest satisfaction metrics
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with building management and landlord partners along with local competitors and surrounding businesses, adhering to all property specific and local guidance
  • Manage in compliance with all applicable laws
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and Brand Standards are being adhered to and updated accordingly
  • Effectively communicate via verbal and written correspondence with all levels of employees and clients, exhibiting GRIT [Genuine, Relentless, Integrity, Teamwork] in all interactions
  • Work dynamically and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Comply with Convene standards and regulations to encourage healthy, safe, and efficient operations in adherence to best practices and requirements of local guidelines
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity by identifying problem areas and implementing solutions
  • Oversee property cleanliness, repairs, and maintenance inclusive of FF&E, Facilities, Kitchen Equipment, etc.

Base Salary:

Salary Min: $115,000 Salary Max: $130,000

This role is also eligible for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
