Somat has immediate openings for a geotechnical field engineer or Geologist! We are seeking energetic and personable experienced staff who are interested in growing their career in this field.

The geotechnical field position we are looking to fill will involve a mix of project pursuits, task management, and field management.

Some of the types of activities that you will be involved with are:

• Coordinating the permitting, utility clearance and scheduling of geotechnical field investigations
• Provide oversight of geotechnical investigations, logging of boreholes and conformance to permit requirements
• Schedule and oversee subcontractors
• Maintaining and operating field equipment

This position will require some out-of-town work assignments depending on the project requirements.

Requirements

• Enjoy working outside
• May require the lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Detail oriented
• Understanding of field operations, including construction operations, utility clearance, and maintenance of traffic control
• Familiarity with geotechnical investigations and HAZWOPER & OSHA Construction Safety and ATSSA Traffic Control certifications preferred
• Demonstrates motivation to modify schedule as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Insurable driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
