We are looking for a Geotechnical Lab Supervising Technician to join our team in Camp Hill, PA! In this important role, you will be responsible for assisting in the running of our full-service AASHTO Accredited Soils Testing Lab. This role will report to the Director of Soils Lab and will primarily independently carry out lab testing projects.

Schedule:

Full-time – 40 hours a week.

You will be able to take advantage of our flextime policy.

Salary Range:

• Competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Broad range for the position is: $25.00 to $30.00 an hour.
• $5,000 signing bonus!

Job Responsibilities:

· Performs various soils tests possibly including, but not limited to, Atterberg Limits, classifications, moisture contents, direct shear, triaxial compression testing (U-U, C-U), soil permeability, proctors, moisture contents, specific gravity, CBRs, unconfined compressive strength of soil, consolidation testing, resistivity, pH, sulfate/chloride content, and compaction testing.

· Performs various rock tests such as unconfined compressive strength of rock, rock point load tests and splitting tensile strength of rock.

· Ensures lab equipment has proper calibrations.

· Assists the Director of Soils Lab Services with maintaining AASHTO Accreditation and in managing the daily operation of the lab including training entry level technicians.

· Independently completes lab testing projects assigned by the Director of Soils Lab Services.

· Pick-up and deliver samples, laboratory supplies, and equipment, as needed.

· Ensures operations are conducted in a safe manner, adhering to our health and safety policies.

· Serves as a client liaison; responds to clients’ requests for quotes/pricing in a timely manner.

Requirements:

· High School Diploma required

· 2+ years of geotechnical AASHTO-accredited lab testing experience required

· Detail oriented

· Ability to work independently

· Ability to lift and carry 40-70 lbs. frequently

· Ability to occasionally lift 85 lbs. to waist height
