Graduation Coach: Fairburn Job at Georgia Military College

The Graduation Coach is responsible for supporting GMC students in both academic and student account processes. This position will be the single point of contact for students from their first term through to graduation. The Graduation Coach will act as an Academic Advisor, but will also monitor the students attendance, financial situation degree progress, and graduation attendance. This position will review weekly financial aid reports, quarterly course prerequisite reports, and quarterly student planner reports. The Graduation Coach will be solely responsible for working with students who desire to attend their graduation ceremony by discussing with students and supporting the Campus Director and Faculty in planning the Graduation Ceremony itself. This position will serve as part of the succession plan.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Student Engagement; Keep a well-managed Outlook calendar so that the enrollment coaches can schedule Academic Advising sessions for students. First sessions will be the longest to allow for 3-to-4 term planning

  • Financial Aid Tasks; Follow up with students who have withdrawn, who are owed a refund, who are still pending financial aid, who still carry debt, etc.

  • Reporting; Starfish Academic Flag/Progress reports; identifying areas of concern; facilitates DoS and Faculty with course scheduling

  • Other duties as assigned


Georgia Military College employees are required to enroll in direct deposit as the institution does not issue paychecks. New hires will be required to upload account information for direct deposit within the onboarding process prior to their start date. Employees have the ability to add, remove, and change account information within their Paycom Employee Self-Service portal.


  • Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.

Experience

Preferred: 2+ years' direct customer service and/or professional workforce
