Overview Reporting to the Grants Team, the part-time Grants Coordinator will assist in the engagement, solicit, cultivation and steward of private foundation, government, and corporate prospects for a diverse client portfolio. They will be responsible for activities related to identification, proposal development and submission, and reporting in conjunction with the Grants Team.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a working knowledge of diverse clientele programs and services, along with current funding trends, etc. to identify, solicit, and steward private foundation, government and corporate funders. The grants coordinator will be expected to work alongside other development staff to foster a collaborative, high-performing development team that is poised for success.
(25% of time)
Proactively research and identify prospects, including but not limited to private, family, corporate, and pharma funders, using tools such as Google Alerts, Candid, Grants Watch, Instrumentl, and other online resources.
Stay abreast of trends in giving tools such as Google Alerts, industry newsletters, etc., identifying new opportunities for grant revenue growth.
(75% of time)
Write, coordinate, edit, and prepare details for grant submissions to foundation prospects (LOIs, project summaries, and full grant proposals).
Provide a full spectrum of assistance to staff in the planning, writing, budget development, and evaluation of grant opportunities.
Maintain a grants calendar to ensure that all foundation applications, reporting, and renewal deadlines are met.
Maintain accurate documentation of all submitted and awarded grants using document and project management tools.
Work alongside finance, research and programs, and other client staff to collect information needed to complete proposals.
ABOUT YOU: Required for Consideration
Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience preferred will train the right candidate with excellent attention to detail and writing skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage reporting and application deadlines (multi-organization calendar management)
Ability to work cross-functionally collaboratively.
Comfortable working from home: the ability to prioritize and plan work activities, monitor own work to ensure quality and meet deadlines, and work productively without daily supervision.
Skill in working with fundraising software, research databases, and Microsoft Office applications. Salesforce knowledge is a plus
Specific knowledge of national grant-makers is desirable but not required will train the right candidate
