We are a real estate and hospitality company that acquires, renovates and manages furnished apartments. We’re a small but mighty team on a mission to build a long term, profitable real estate business for our employees, investors and customers. We own and operate over $12 million in real estate in Denver and are partners on another +$10 million in Boulder and Detroit.

Our “Modern Midstay” furnished rentals offer unique and comfortable places to stay while our guests explore the city for a month or more. Our typical guests are travel nurses, WFH adventurers, and people moving to/from Denver. We plan to continue growing our furnished rental business, while also expanding into more traditional unfurnished apartments.

A note on our brand: We are Blue Mountain Capital to our investors, while our guest-facing brand is our SuperHost Airbnb page plus Modern Midstay. We manage all of our listings on Airbnb and Furnished Finder and are building a Modern Midstay website this summer. We’ll invest in both brands in the coming year as we raise more capital and drive more direct bookings and brand recognition.

The Opportunity

The Guest & Property Operations Manager will work with the CEO, Operations Manager and Bookings Associate to build our Guest & Property Operations business unit for scale and profitability.

This is an exciting opportunity for the ambitious, creative, entrepreneurial spirit who aspires to:

  • Build sales and/or operations functions at a fast growing company
  • Bridge from finance or consulting into startup operations
  • Start their own B2C business or join a search or PE fund one day

We are looking for someone who loves new challenges, learns quickly, and is excited to roll up their sleeves and get stuff done. The role is a nice balance of driving new revenue and guest bookings, designing new processes and software systems, and building a hiring plan to support our next phase of growth.

Responsibilities

Drive revenue and productivity by hitting $100,000/month Guest Bookings target

  • Manage bookings from initial inquiry through to booking, payment and check-in. Implement process, automation, and staffing to move from player to coach role
  • Develop B2B lead gen partnerships with hospital and corporate housing groups, corporate recruiting and relocation teams, and real estate brokers
  • Manage listings across Airbnb, Furnished Finder and our to-be-built website
  • Develop P&L and KPI reporting for each investment and portfolio as a whole

Manage cleaning and maintenance operations in partnership with Operations Manager

  • Coordinate cleaning schedule and oversee QC process and guest check-in/out with third party cleaning team
  • Triage and project manage maintenance and renovation requests with Operations Manager and contractors

Design & implement process, systems and team for scale

  • Drive process improvement through our guest management software, Buildium
  • Develop training, talk tracks and automation to simplify the guest experience for guests and our team from initial touch point through check-out
  • Evaluate staffing models to deliver 24/7 guest bookings and support
  • Develop partnerships for cleaning and property management tasks
  • Create hiring and partnership playbook to expand into next market

Required Attributes

  • 3 to 8 years of experience in cross-functional, customer-facing roles in a consumer (not B2B) business (startup preferred)
  • Act Like an Owner: Own the outcome, work autonomously, and ask lots of questions

  • Change Advocate: Thrive in an environment with constant change and easily adapt to new processes, technology, and/or procedures that impact day-to-day responsibilities

  • Highly organized & detail oriented
  • Experience in some combo of real estate, startup building, B2C sales & service, biz ops

Hours: Given that we’re in the hospitality business, you will be “on-call” for guest needs on nights/weekends, but our goal is to implement better process and staffing to mitigate the after hours workload. That said, there is plenty of flexibility to manage your own schedule.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
