Head Chef for Upscale Champagne Bar with a Small Kitchen

Are you a passionate and creative chef with experience in upscale dining, inventory management, shopping, and ordering? Do you have for food and beverage (including champagne) and a desire to lead a kitchen team? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

We are seeking a Head Chef for Walnut Creek's First Champagne Bar with a small kitchen, located in the heart of downtown. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, from menu creation and food preparation to shopping, ordering products, creating the schedule, and planning special menus for our monthly champagne dinners!

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute menus that align with the restaurant's concept and standards
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and food cost control to maximize profitability
  • Train, lead, and inspire kitchen staff to ensure a positive work environment
  • Ensure food quality and presentation is consistently excellent
  • Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment that meets health and safety standards
  • do weekly shopping and ordering of any back of house needs and some front of house needs

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a kitchen, with at least 2 years in a leadership role (can include sous chef)
  • Experience with inventory management and ordering products
  • Food handlers Manager certification
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Passion for champagne and fine dining
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation to do shopping at least once a week or as needed
