    Health Care Aide
    Summer Programming
    Grandville Education Center
    Starting June 5, 2023

    JOB GOAL:
    • To provide direct care and support to student(s) identified as having complex health needs within the school setting under the direction of the district nurse and health services program.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Health/Medical field experience preferred
    • Current CPR/AED/First-Aid Certification or willingness to become certified within 60 days of hire
    • Comply with all district policies and procedures
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to work independently with a high level of responsibility and organization

    RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
    • Perform and manage the medical/health needs directly to student(s) according to their Individualized Health Care Plan.
    • Works collaboratively with district nurse, families, and other educational staff in regards to student’s health needs.
    • Consult and communicate with district nurse in determining appropriate care for students.
    • Participate in regular Health Care Plan team reviews.
    • Perform other duties within the educational setting as assigned by the school nurse and building administrator
    • Participates in training sessions to update necessary skills. Training include, but not limited to: bloodborne pathogens, medication administration, CPR/First Aid.
    • Provide effective and clear communication
    • Maintain clear and accurate documentation
    • Maintains and protects confidentiality and privacy following HIPAA and FERPA protocols.
