Health Care Representative Job at Michigan State University
Functions as customer service representative both in person and over the phone at the Student Health Center. Successful candidate will schedule appointments, greet visitors; check in patients to clinic; responsible for fee collections, coordination of patient referrals and medical insurance verification.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; a minimum of one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a medical office or clinic; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Completion of a healthcare assistant certificate or college course work in a health care related field or business. Extensive knowledge of computer software including Microsoft products, Outlook email and calendar functions, and patient scheduling software. Understanding of HIPPA/Fraud compliance, patient confidentiality. Critical decision making skills while under stress. Excellent interpersonal skills needed to schedule appointments and check in patients upon arrival and interact with physicians and nursing staff.
