Job Summary
The Industry Specialist – Healthcare drives the creation of an industry strategy for healthcare and provides direction on attractive markets, applications, and opportunities. They conduct market research to improve market understanding, sizing, and trends to leverage opportunities. They create and execute promotional campaigns based on business needs and priorities as well as develop new ideas that contribute to the innovation pipeline. They work closely with sales and Healthcare Business Development Managers to ensure the needs of the commercial team are met and supported.
Essential Functions
- Develop industry specific marketing plans and strategies to drive direction and focus.
- Supports the marketing director and represents industry content for strategic plan development.
- Supports the sales team with focused, compelling and needs based collateral. Listens and collaborates with the commercial team to develop meaningful sales collateral, tools.
- Custodian and regional representation for Mevopur branding, provides guidance and applies branding guidelines in line with Avient’s brand strategy.
- Understands, develops, and strengthens value propositions of key brands, products and services and ensures commercial teams understand and communicate them effectively.
- Collaborate globally with regional peers to leverage opportunities, streamline processes, learn, and coordinate global initiatives, market trends.
- Providing guidance to product management on pricing strategies, margin guardrails for new products and services as well as resetting margin targets based on value creation.
- Conducts market research to elaborate on ideas and quantify opportunities.
- Plan and execute promotional campaign encompassing various targeted tactics suited to industry needs.
- Develop new opportunity concepts and bring to market i.e. existing products to new markets, where to play and how to win.
- Collaborates with marketing communications to execute successful trade shows.
- Responsible for and manages industry trade show calendar
- Drives lead generation through various targeted activities some linked to campaigns or independently, activities include orchestrating webinars, white papers.
- Analyzes lead data and develops strategies for improvement.
- Implements the lead management process as prescribed.
- Manages the social media marketing strategy by ensuring content published is relevant and aligned to objectives in collaboration with marketing communications.
- Uses a variety of tools and resources to ideate i.e. workshops, brainstorming with sales, new business development and technology to generate innovation ideas, conduct market research, voice of customer, output generates new innovation projects.
- Leads the marketing activity incl. acting as a project manager or marketing lead for innovation projects. This includes steering projects through the stage gate process.
- Launches new products and services following the developed process and works closely with stakeholders to execute the launch. Activities incl. comprehensive market research, prospect and target customer research, value proposition development, competitive benchmarking and analysis, developing sales training documents, media releases, social media campaigns, webinars etc.
- Conducts bi-annual industry business reviews to the regional organization that include business results and analysis, PESTL analysis, update trends, initiatives, projects, and opportunities.
- Leads industry training initiatives on products and services, collaborates with stakeholders, partners to create content i.e. technology.
- Stays at the cutting edge of industry trends, competitor activity, translates these into initiatives and actions to leverage or mitigate.
- Identifies and participates in industry association meetings to gain insight into changes, challenges and opportunities or lobby on Avient’s behalf. Reports back on meaningful developments.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marketing or Business Management, 3+ years relevant experience required.
- MBA would be advantageous
- Knowledge and experience in the plastics industry especially related to healthcare would be beneficial, along with experience in the colorants and additives for plastics industry will be advantageous

- Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, SAP, Excel, SFDC, Tableau.
