Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator at the underground mine and quarry in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska. This position is responsible for maintenance on our equipment; oil changes, hose changes, parts exchanges and miscellaneous mechanical work.

This position may include travel within the district.

Essential Functions

• Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
• Shotcrete
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Set up and tear down pumps
• Work in a team environment
• Train others as needed
• Manage multiple tasks and prioritizing for production needs

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week.

Preferred Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Heavy equipment operations or military experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work in an outdoor environment year round
• Ability to work in elevated areas
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Time management skills including planning and prioritizing multiple tasks
