Overview

Lewis & Lewis, a Summit Material company, is looking for Heavy Equipment Operators in our construction division. In this position you will primarily be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of construction equipment including Primarily be responsible for operating a track hoe to excavate trenches, pull trench boxes, backfill, and load materials in a variety of heavy construction operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate a track hoe to excavate trenches, pull trench boxes, and grade in heavy construction operations.
• Maintain tools and equipment so that they are kept in good working order and are safe for use.
• Perform daily routine maintenance on the machine including lubrication and monitor needed repairs/service requirements.
• Operate other construction equipment as required.
• Perform a variety of general labor tasks as required for the job.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including equipment you operate.

Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications
• Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards
• Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit
