Position Title: Analytics and Research Program Manager.
Job Type: Full Time / Exempt.
Supervisor: Director of Health Information Technology.
Supervises: Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning Intern.
Position Summary:
The Analytics and Research Program Manager is responsible for developing consumer insights for health care quality with the primary goal of continuous quality improvement through the use of relevant data reports and comparisons to improve patient care. The Program Manager will lead overall data collection, analysis, and reporting for the LPCA as a network organization, directing and providing technical support and assistance for health center staff. The primary source of data used to analyze measures and statistics will be provided by LPCA’s aggregate data repository (Azara DRVS) secondary sources of data include but are not limited to qualitative and quantitative surveys and interviews.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple projects - Drive the insights to quality metrics, analytics approach, and analysis of key data sets for health centers’ continuous quality improvement.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members - Have the willingness and ability to develop team members’ careers and skills.
  • Analyze data - Undertake all aspects of answering client questions using data acquired through DRVS and other sources.
  • Manage clients - Responsible for data collection and client correspondence.
  • Manage and coordinate performance data collection, feedback, and reporting for all quality initiatives.
  • Engage members through relevant trend information, data reports and comparisons.
  • Provide direct support to health centers in data collection, monitoring the completeness and accuracy of reported data, and ensuring compliance with process and outcome measure definitions.
  • Develop and manage data collection methodologies for multiple performance measures to meet the deliverables on all grants/contracts.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of reporting requirements for all grants and contracts.
  • Develop data collection tools for new initiatives and train health center participants on changes in data collection and reporting.
  • Conduct analytical investigations that combine data from many different sources - clinical, behavioral, social, environmental, etc.
  • Aggregate, analyze, and report health center data collection and reporting processes ensuring timely and accurate delivery of reports.
  • Work collaboratively with all program staff, HIE entities, and solutions staff in communicating needs regarding databases and reporting tools.
  • Develop summary reports and presentations demonstrating performance trends.
  • Maintain membership demographic information and contact list.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Uniform Data Set (UDS) for health centers.
  • Identify and maintain knowledge of state and national benchmark databases including Healthy People 2020, HEDIS, Meaningful Use, PCMH, and HRSA Quality Reporting.
  • Maintain knowledge of connections between clinical workflow processes and data structures to manage information flow mapping processes.
  • Identify gaps/needs/requirements, inform use case development, and evaluate/optimize integration of care coordination data interventions.
  • Develop and maintain a method to continuously assess a data systems approach for quality of care coordination interventions, which lead to extraction and use of quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Facilitate and track the research and resolution of EMR intervention issues identified by stakeholders.
  • Participate in developing reports and/or manuscripts for dissemination and publication.
  • Coordinate database that houses all LPCA data measures that include those from HRSA PCA grant, and other grants.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in healthcare informatics, analytics, information technology, business intelligence or statistics, data science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired and at least five years related work experience.
  • Minimum of two years of data visualization experience - managing large data sets, using quantitative and qualitative analysis to draw meaningful and valid insights, surveying methodology.
  • Management of professional analytic staff in a business, clinical or technology function.
  • 3-5 years of management experience or similar experience in a supervisory capacity or role.
  • Experience in, analysis, quality reporting, or decision support, with at least three years of experience with health care industry.
  • Experience querying data, data interpretation and report generation using modern analytics tools.
  • Experience with translating and communicating insights to key stakeholders.
  • Superior ability to conceptualize, implement, and evaluate data solutions as part performance improvement.
  • Excellent problem-solving or analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of HealthCare Informatics, Reporting, Analytics.
  • Familiarity with writing complex Queries for analysis.
  • Familiarity with disease processes, care pathways, and medical terminology.
  • Skill in database and query design and development for scripts and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Access.
