Alaphia Care is a growing home health agency looking for additional supportive staff in our office for the Intake Coordinator position. There are advancement opportunities for the right candidate!
We are looking for someone that is caring, customer-service oriented, detailed, organized, extremely reliable, can "think on their feet", knows how and when to take initiative, someone familiar with WellSky Kinnser is greatly desired, but not required. Experience with other EMR/EHR systems required. Candidate must be focused and ready to stay long term. Must have a minimum of 1 year of home health experience performing intake duties, as well as, working wih IEHP, Molina, & other providers.
This FT position includes day-to-day management and processing of incoming home health referrals, excellent communication and timely responses with referral sources, and screening and processing patients with high level customer service. This role also includes obtaining initial and on-going authorization from insurances.
Must type minimum 35 wpm (testing done).
Essential Functions:
1. Receives all referrals/inquiries for possible admission.
2. Check insurance eligibility prior to acceptance of patient referral.
3. Communicates with requesting providers in coordinating patient care.
4. Assists with collecting important data for referral tracking.
5. Assists with coordinating home health skilled nursing, mental health, and therapy
services.
Staffing:
1. Assigns all required clinicians to an admitted patient.
2. Responsible in making contact and confirming with patient prior to sending out home health personnel.
3. Plots visit schedule for clinicans.
Equipment used: Computer keyboard, telephone, fax machine, copier
Job Conditions:
- Position is stressful in terms of meeting deadlines.
- It is primarily a desk job, which essentially involves sitting, standing, stooping, and walking, as well as an inordinate amount of telephone communication.
- It requires minimal lifting of office records and printouts.
- The ability to read 12 point, and larger, type, is required.
- One must be able to adequately hear, on the telephone, with no more than an amplifier and be able to communicate, both, verbally, and in writing, in English.
- The job requires the ability to utilize a PC, calculator, multi- line telephone, and other related office equipment.
- Has access to all patient medical and financial records, which may be discussed with all management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
