Horticulture Crew Supervisor

R.P. Marzilli & Company is an award-winning professional landscape firm that builds and maintains ultra-high-end residential landscapes in the Greater Boston, Cape and Islands, the Berkshires, and Rhode Island/Eastern Connecticut areas. This position is based out of Medway, MA.

Overview

As the Horticulture Crew Supervisor, you would be working side by side on site with 2-3 assigned crews, splitting field time between crews according to need. You and your crews represent the RP Marzilli brand as highly knowledgeable, skilled, professional and friendly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for morning rollout and afternoon dumping and loading of tools and materials

Helps with maintaining vehicle, trailer, and yard cleanliness and organization

Enforces workplace rules and safety

Fills in on crews as needed (people out, special projects, short weeks)

Monitors quality in the field in collaboration with Horticulture Production Manager

Coaches crews on training topics and standard Horticulture practices in collaboration with Horticulture Production Manager

Organize, direct, and request needed personnel, subcontractors, and materials for timely project completion.

Complete daily reports of crew labor time, materials, subcontractors, and extras.

General Requirements:

Valid U.S. Driver’s License

3+ years’ experience in the field, leading a crew of 3 or more.

Knowledge and experience in plant materials, proper planting practices and pruning techniques.

Experience driving a trailer

Horticulture and Plant ID Proficiency

High level of professionalism and the ability to represent the RP Marzilli brand within the company and in the public eye

Preferred But Not Required

MCH

Pesticide Applicator’s License

College degree in Green Industry preferable
