POSITION: Human Resources & Benefits Generalist
LOCATION: Mount Laurel, New Jersey

STATUS: Exempt, Full-time – In Office
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources & Benefits Generalist is responsible for a broad array of Human Resources functions. This position will initially be responsible for, among other things, coordinating new hire sessions and interviews for both agreement and non-agreement positions inside and outside of the Company. That being said, Conrail is interested in hiring an individual with existing experience and interest in health & welfare and retirement (pension and 401k) benefits to eventually move into a role more focused on supporting Conrail’s Director of Benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Background checks
- Medical (physicals and drug screens before hire, medical ins. after hire)
- Monthly reports (attrition report, FMLA reports/PP slides (as well as working with KEPRO), anniversary letters, age & demographics report, non-agreement ages and years of service, and ORG charts)
- Hiring needs and VIPS sheets
- P-file requests
- Job title changes and salary changes
- Scholarships and Education Assistance
- ESOP, 401K, benefits communications
- Summer interns
- Bonus and special payments
- BLE, ATDA, BRS 401K Match Calculations
- Non-Agreement performance appraisals
- Merit Calculations and Communication
- JAC Meetings / Investment Committee Meetings
- Fidelity 401K administration
- Administration of the Board of Directors Charitable Contributions Program
- Deferred Comp payments (work with Newport Group and NS Payroll)
- Supplemental Pension administration (work with Definiti, Goldman Sachs, Northern Trust)
- Department of Labor Form 5500 Filings
- Annual Benefit Open Enrollment
- Questions from former employees regarding Life Insurance, benefits, pay, etc.
- Employee appreciation picnic and Holiday party planning
- COVID 19 assistance and reports
- Annual audits (work with PwC, KPMG)
