HSE Specialist -Sedalia, Missouri Job at WireCo WorldGroup
WireCo WorldGroup is the world's leader in manufacturing, engineering, and distributing wire rope, synthetic rope, specialized assemblies, wire products and electromechanical cable. We specialize in rope for the gas and oil industry for mining and off shore drilling, cranes, bridges and military installations.
The HSE Specialist will support the global WireCo Safety program, with compliance in the area of responsibility to include but not limited to Safety Management System (SMS) and environmental compliance. This individual will work to ensure the plant meets or exceeds internal and external safety standards and strives for continuous improvement. This individual will also support the implementation of the Safety Road for OPEX. Also the individual will be apart of 5S projects.
The ideal Candidate has mastered the skills necessary for basic health, safety and environmental understanding. The Candidate will be an integral member of the local Operations Team, and will utilize their experience and personal character to embody the key behaviors of the WireCo Business System; Teamwork, Accountable, Self Aware, Noble Intent, Determined, Transparent, and Curious. The Candidate will focus to Unleash their Talent through targeted development opportunities, 1 on 1 coaching, and continued training.
The Candidate will ensure that key direction and decisions are rooted in our most basic operational demand, that Data is the Source of Truth. The candidate will promote the WireCo Business System throughout the Sedalia manufacturing facility, and support HSE tasks associated with reaching our 5-Year Strategic Growth Plan.
Education and/or Professional Certification Requirements
- Basic understanding of HSE
- Willing to learn HSE Elements
- Willingness to obtain GSP, ASP, CSP or other Safety related credentials
Experience and Skill Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience preferred
- Bachelors Degree in Safety, Occupational Health and Safety or Engineering preferred
- Safety Focused Actions at all times in the workplace
- Superior computer skills, with abilities to easily navigate MS Office Suite and data analysis
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with employees ranging from the production floor to executive management
- Leadership skills to develop a workforce through reward and recognition, coaching, and corrective action
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and react to changing and heightened priorities
- Exhibit positivity, passion, integrity and responsibility
- Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Combination office/production floor environment. Standing/walking on concrete floors for up to 8 hours. Pushing/pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs.
Equipment and/or Materials Used
Computer, cell phone, MS Office, SM System. Required to properly use safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed safety shoes when on the production floor
