POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As a strategic business partner, responsible for providing guidance and leadership to support and achieve business goals with limited supervision. Provides a high level of expert consultation and advisement to meet the organization’s strategic objectives and initiatives in support of the overall team member experience. The HRBP II - Employee Relations conducts comprehensive reviews and investigations of complex employee relations issues including disciplinary actions, dispute resolution process, conflict resolution, interpretation of policies, federal, state, and/or local laws and regulations. In the absence of the Employee Relations Director, the HRBP II - Employee Relations assumes the role of primary contact for addressing issues of a highly sensitive nature, including but not limited to legal, regulatory, or other sensitive concerns, in collaboration with the appropriate HRBP, legal counsel and business leader(s).


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Serve as an employee relations subject matter expert. Independently investigates and manages employee relations matters of moderate to high complexity, ensuring consistency of best and leading practices, and identifying and articulating risk/reward strategies. Collaborate with HR Business Partners, consult with team members and managers at all levels to provide guidance and recommendations related to disciplinary actions, performance, HICV policies, and other matters including, providing leader coaching, and mentoring as a part of an investigation or employee relations review. Collaborates closely with the General Counsel’s Office for legal advice, opinions, and counsel involving complex employee relations matters. Seeks advice and counsel for proactively training leadership on matters involving HR law. Work in partnership with team members of all levels as well as HR Business Partners, HR operational services (Shared Services), HR Centers of Expertise (COE), and other business clients while obtaining facts surrounding reported concerns and making appropriate recommendations and determinations in alignment with organizational policies and practices, and applicable laws. Manages employee relations issues in a timely manner while maintaining confidentiality with all personnel information and records. Conducts research, interviews, and analysis of data collected during the investigative phase, and consult with the HRBP’s, and business leaders to resolve all issues. Ensures all HR decisions and practices are compliant with all government regulations (EEO, INS, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, OSHA, etc.) and all Federal and State employment laws. Manages involuntary terminations to ensure compliance and consistency with policies and procedures and partner with Director/Sr HR Manager for approval.
  • Tracks, interprets, and reports on trends in employee relations actions; proactively identifies issues and recommends appropriate solutions. Facilitates employee relations-related training and education for leaders and team members.

  • Manages continuous improvement of Human Resources service delivery while serving as a liaison with the Corporate Human Resources Teams. Partner with Shared Services on leave management, worker’s compensation, light duty, ADA accommodations and return to work.

  • Evaluates and recommends process improvement strategies (Company wide, regionally or site specific). Leads HR initiatives and special projects as needed.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of seven plus years of Human Resources experience.
  • Minimum of five plus years of investigative experience, leave management and other related experience in Human Resources.
  • Consistent computer (Microsoft Suite)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
