JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Technician (Confidential Position)
SALARY RANGE: $2,235.26 – $2,995.46 Bi-weekly, $58,116.76 – $77,881.96 Annual
REPORTS TO: Director, Human Resources
LOCATION: San Leandro, CA
Our offices have remained open as we are considered an essential service. This is an in-office community-based position with the option to work from home after the probationary period. Staff work in our San Leandro office.
DUTIES: Under general direction, performs complex administrative duties in the Human Resources Department. Duties include but not limited to:
1). Maintain and review all in-house and previous employee resumes received, and distribute the qualified resumes to the hiring supervisors.
2). Compose offer, not interested, and not qualified letters.
3). Order and review all background checks.
4). Enter all new hires into the Payroll (WFN), CalPERS, Unum, and DDS Everbridge Emergency systems.
5). Responsible for complex job postings and various weekly reports (new hires, terminations etc.).
6). Send initial new hire COBRA letters.
7). Handle incoming, and outgoing mail.
8). Maintain and responsible for all employee personnel files (active and terminated).
9). Notify supervisors of all employee performance evaluation due dates (3 month, 6 month and annual) and monitor the submission of all performance evaluations to Human Resources. Following up on outstanding evaluations, and various other required forms.
10). Responsible for all temporary employee hiring (2 offices) and timesheets through various employment agencies.
11). Respond to telephone and e-mail inquiries.
12). Process all name, address, and gender changes.
13). Keeping all job descriptions and salaries current (making any/all changes as needed).
14). Handle complex “Annual Employee Update” process.
15). Process resignation letters, and complete and distribute all requisitions for supervisors.
16). Create personnel files (Laserfiche), and electronically scan all new hire paperwork, and current employee documents/changes.
17). File all “I-9”’s, Background Checks, and “Exit Interview” documents (separately).
18). Respond to all sabbatical requests to employee, supervisor, and Payroll Specialist.
19). Removing all terminated staff from the State DDS “Everbridge Emergency System”.
20). Responds to, and maintains all records of EDD unemployment claims.
21). Responsible to assure that all clinical staff (M.D., Nurse, Behaviorist, O.T., Psychologist etc.) licenses are clean (no issues), valid/current, and placed in personnel file.
22). Responsible to assure that all “I-9” (soon to expire) issues are handled promptly.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Typing/word processing skills - 50 wpm, familiarity with computers.
2. Three years of increasingly responsible administrative experience.
3. Ability to exercise mature judgment, maintain confidentiality, work independently, communicate effectively (verbally and in writing), interact with others in a professional manner and excel in managing multiple projects.
4. Experience in Human Resources required.
