174PG has recently expanded into the Green Hydrogen (GH2) generation market. By leveraging expertise in renewable energy development together with GH2, the goal of 174PG is to be an early leader in the GH2 market targeting the ZEV transportation, long duration energy storage and the production of green hydrogen derivatives.

POSITION OVERVIEW

174 Power Global is seeking an experienced Proposal Manager with excellent technical judgment and communications skills to work on hydrogen energy projects from conceptual engineering to final investment decision. The work will include assisting the business development team by setting the project scope, cost estimation, techno/economic analysis, proposal writing and understanding of the market/competitiveness of varying technologies.

This new role may be based in Irvine, CA or Houston, TX. Other locations may be considered.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• 
  Developing green H2 projects and proposals with the best value proposition necessary to execute a successful FID.
• Maintaining broad based technical expertise for hydrogen production (specifically electrolysis) and hydrogen derivatives production (specifically ammonia).
• Collaborating with the commercial team in the development of successful projects including working with external partners, suppliers, and contractors.
• Ownership and management of the in-house modeling tool for costing, pricing, and financial analysis.
• Developing, owning, and maintaining appropriate project development tools used to develop cost estimates and proposals.

• Ensure all engineering and design activities are aligned with company and project environmental, health and safety policies and objectives.
• Support the establishment and maintenance of the engineering, design criteria and applicable standards and specifications for H2 projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS in chemical or mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline.
• Thorough understanding of theory and practice of gas physics and thermodynamics
• Substantial experience in design, specification, and selection of materials, equipment, technologies and systems for use with hydrogen.
• Able to evaluate hydrogen production, compression and storage equipment including liquefaction, compressors, electrolyzers, pressure vessels, cryo-tanks, instrumentation, etc.
• Compliance with compressed and cryogenic gas safety and environmental regulations
• Previous exposure to one or more of: energy or pipeline project development, siting and permitting processes; process plant layout, piping, and cost estimating; hazardous area classification; construction scheduling; EPC contract terms and technical exhibits.
• Academic or industry experience in design or commissioning of hydrogen production facilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, written communications, analytical and quantitative skills.
• Evidence of potential or ability to manage consultants, designers, and contractors.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated high achiever with ability to multi-task, perform duties in a collaborative working environment.
• Ability and willingness to travel to projects sites and meetings, often in remote locations.
