Darling Ingredients is seeking Maintenance Technician to join our team at our plant located in Mifflintown, PA. This is a pivotal role where you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing plant equipment and machinery, in order to ensure safe, timely and efficient operation of all plant machinery and equipment.

Job Summary:

Under supervision, maintains, repairs, and installs plant equipment and machinery, to ensure safe, timely and efficient operation of all plant machinery and equipment.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain all plant equipment to ensure safe, continual and efficient operation.
• Ensures that periodic and preventive maintenance are accomplished according to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager’s direction.
• Perform emergency repairs as needed to any pieces of plant production and/or refrigeration equipment.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Ability to work effectively with third party contractors.
• Must have good communications skills to maintain good working relationships with transportation and production departments.
• Able to use computer for tracking work orders, repairs, parts, and labor allocation.
• Comply with all safety and good Manufacturing practices.
• Expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience working in a mechanical role in a manufacturing environment focused on process improvement.
• Analytical thinking skills, problem solving ability required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good computer application skills in a network environment.
• Able to read blueprints.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time.
• Able to climb ladders and stairs working at heights of 40 feet or more using proper PPE.

Work Environment:

• Wet environment.
• Extreme temperature exposure.
• Strong odors.
