Job description
We are looking to employ a qualified and passionate Infant Teacher. Infant/Toddler teachers should possess high energy and the ability to handle the demands of babies and toddlers with different personalities and needs. To consider, applicants must have experience working in a center.
Join our team of dedicated educators who share a common goal of creating a fun and positive learning environment. To ensure success, the infant/toddler teacher should display a gentle and nurturing personality and the patience to assist each infant or child in maturing cognitively. They should be able to assist in developing the infants' and children's social skills as they interact.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you must have completed a minimum of 15 units in Early Childhood Education, which includes the four core classes, as well as three units in Infant/Toddler
Job Requirements:
- Experience working with infants in a licensed childcare center
- Must be able to lift to 25 pounds, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- The ability to meet state requirements for education and additional center requirements by taking other courses as needed
- Clean background check and medical clearance
- Must be able to work from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
- US Work Authorization and excellent references
- Submission of TB clearance and background check
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
- Proof of completion of Mandated Reporter training
- Verification of physical examination, including DTap and MMR vaccinations,
- Reliable transportation
- Knowledge of early childhood education and child development
- A positive attitude, flexibility, and enthusiasm for teaching and learning
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
Teacher Responsibilities:
- Guiding infants through education/development stages. ( Language development and physical care throughout the day)
- Thinking on their feet and responding to each child's needs efficiently.
- Display a patient, calm personality and a loving approach to every child.
- Contribute positively to the behavior and social interaction of the children.
- Build secure relationships with the children.
- Engage in creative methods of instruction.
- Plan weekly comprehensive lesson plans.
- Instill a sense of order in the classroom and playground
- Practice ongoing classroom management techniques
- Cultivate a warm, nurturing, safe, respectful, positive climate classroom
- Ensure the classroom and shared environments are clean, clutter-free, secure, and organized
- Working closely with the director to ensure that guidelines are adhered to.
- Keeping updates of the day's events logged on the "Daily Log."
- Report to the Admin Team and parents of children's accidents, illness, and unusual behavior
- Ensuring close communication with parents throughout the day should the need arise.
- Maintain discretion around children's records.
- Communicate effectively with families.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the highest quality of care, and well-being of all children
- Designing the physical environment to meet the changing needs of infants and toddlers
- Demonstrating verbally and by role modeling a sound knowledge of child growth and development and by implementing developmentally appropriate teaching practices
- Actively attending and participating in staff meetings
- Diapering, feeding, and self-care routines of children
- Other duties as assigned by the Director
- Working together as a team with your fellow teaching staff
- Knowledge of early childhood education and child development
- A positive attitude, flexibility, and enthusiasm for teaching and learning
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
