This entry level position is a member of the Digital Learning & Instructional Innovation at UCM and serves the university academic community as a leading resource for instructional design. The focus on this position is to: create, develop, and produce original, quality instructional/presentation materials and/or learning packages in support of academic instruction at UCM. The individual in this position provides consultations and training on instructional technologies and software for UCM’s faculty and staff in support and enhancement of instruction, and is required to be current and practiced on quality management activities per the University’s chosen quality assurance program. The person in this position is required to maintain currency in educational technology and techniques as is appropriate for the position’s specialization.

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education, Curriculum & Development, or related field
Preferred: Master’s degree in the following field(s) of study: Instructional Design, Education Technology, Curriculum & Development, or related field

Education may be substituted for experience or experience may be substituted for education. Note that equivalencies are based on the following: AA or 60 credit hours = 2 years’ experience; BA/BS or 120 credit hours = 4 years’ experience; MA/MS = 6 years’ experience; PhD = 8 years’ experience.
Required:
- One (1) year of full-time experience (or equivalent education) in a higher education setting including working in a team-based environment with the demonstrated ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrated familiarity with common educational technology tools (e.g., Adobe products, Google in education, virtual and augmented reality, SoftChalk, BlackBoard, etc.)
- Certified or willingness to become certified (within 1 year of employment) in QM rubrics and as a QM Peer Reviewer.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience with hybrid course design and assessment.
- Demonstrated familiarity with Quality Matters or Online Consortium standards.
- Experience using Microsoft Windows and Office suite and Internet and browser applications.
- Classes, experience, or certifications in instructional technology related field.
Mental skills, including concentration, memory, complex decision making, analytical thinking,
and/or conceptual thinking.
