Insurance Verification Clerk - FT Job at USPI
Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is seeking an Insurance Verification Clerk to join our team!!
Responsibilities:
Verify insurance benefits, obtaining proper authorization from insurance carrier and calculates payments due for patients of Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital - Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Outpatient Center.
Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is a joint venture with Tenet Healthcare and USPI. We are 30-bed acute care surgical hospital located at 1800 Park Place Avenue in Fort Worth, Texas, that has been serving the residents of Fort Worth and the surrounding communities since 2014.
The hospital provides a wide spectrum of medical services including an Emergency Department, a 30-bed inpatient unit, a 4-bed intensive care unit, a diagnostic imaging unit, 14 operating rooms, including the da Vinci, ExcelsiusGPS, and Mako Surgical Systems. The surgical services Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth provides include, but are not limited to, Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT), Bariatric, General, Pulmonary, Gynecology, Oral, Orthopedics, Orthopedic Spine Surgery, Pain Management, Plastics, Podiatry, Spine, and Urology. We focus on providing a quality, service-oriented environment for all surgical procedures.

1 year previous medical insurance verification experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent Customer Service Skills
Good communication and people skills
Excellent telephone skills
Good computer skills – MS Office
Ability to maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive, privileged communications and work product.
Ability to utilize Electronic Heath Record system for documentation to patients account/record
Required Experience:
Interfaces with patients and families, physicians and staff.
Verifies current insurance benefits and obtains proper authorizations from carrier for outpatient/inpatient cases (Includes Radiology)
Calculates proper co-insurance amounts to collect on admission
Maintains clear comments in Cerner regarding coverage as well as payment expectations
Update patient demographics/information in system.
Other duties as required or requested by chain of command
