JOB DESCRIPTION
The Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry is seeking an accomplished Information Technology Project Manager with extensive experience managing complex transformational projects. Project Manager leads the initiation, planning, execution and closure phases of all project life cycle for delivery involving multiple technologies, multiple systems, business unit functions and customers; projects range from medium to high complexity.
- The project manager must have experience executing a variety of IT projects including vendor software deployment, application migrations from legacy Mainframe platform to distributed system. Familiarity with the application development process is required.
- The Project Manager performs the essential functions required to ensure consistent, successful delivery of assigned projects while managing competing demands of scope, schedule, cost, risk and quality; and differing stakeholder requirements and expectations.
- The position requires interacting with various stakeholders and IT technical staff as well as internal and external resources from ancillary departments and vendors. The position also entails some hands-on participation to document business requirements and create test strategies. The Project Manager’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents as well as project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Strong project execution. Able to pro-actively identify issues, found solutions and drive them to resolution.
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support operational goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
- Assess user requirements and vendor product offerings and identify process and workflow changes required to meet the implementation goals.
- Assess and validate user and technical requirements and collaborate with the various departments and IT subspecialties to ensure that the operational and technical requirements of the applications/project are met.
- Manage all aspects of training including developing training requirements, managing user training schedule, and assessing training outcomes.
- Develop and manage technical and user acceptance tests for all applications, upgrades or conversions.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional I.T office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop computers, phone, scanner, printer, keyboard, photocopiers, shredder and fax.

Sedentary work environment with physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. Prolonged hours of sitting at a desk and using computer, stand, speak, present, bend, and reach.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position.
Travel No travel is expected for this position.
Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field preferred, or a four-year degree (bachelor’s degree).
- Minimum of five years of project management experience in a leadership capacity in various life-cycle phases (e.g., requirements analyst lead, implementation lead, development lead or test lead).
- Project Management Profession (PMP) certification required.
- Business Analysis experience required.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal, and writing.
- Proficiency in the utilization of formal project management tools.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills required.
- Must be flexible and available, as necessary.
- Ability to adapt to changing environment.
SALARY: $100,000 per year plus FICA Reimbursement
BENEFITS
- 10% of employer contribution to your 401K (before FICA gross up reimbursement) without mandatory matching, vested immediately before.
- Basic Pay + FICA reimbursement (Social Security and Medicare Tax reimbursed as weekly added to compensation) = total weekly compensation
