Position Objective:
The IT Security Analyst role owns the planning and implementation of information security, and business operation defenses against security breaches and vulnerabilities in line with business requirements and evolving technology trends.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Windows Server Patching and coordination (Over 700 systems) utilizing AWS Systems Manager Patch Manager
- Service account password rotation and coordination
- Vulnerability scans, reporting review, remediation coordination
- MDR/EDR reviews and administration
- SIEM reviews and administration
- IT security meetings (SOC2)
- Coordinating regular vulnerability and penetration testing (VikingCloud scans and reviews)
- Works closely with the Manager of Compliance to meet compliance objectives
- Completes yearly risk assessments
- Monitors computer networks for security issues
- Investigates security breaches and other information security incidents
- Observes and interacts with software used to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs
- Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause
- Works with security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities
- Works with resolver IT Teams to fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard
- Stays current on IT security trends and news
- Assists with greater Security team in developing company-wide best practices for IT security
- Helps colleagues understand information security and its importance for the business
- Researches security enhancements and makes recommendations to management
- Designs step-by-step operating procedure documents for everyday activities
- Recommends tuning opportunities to Security Engineering team for Security Tools
- Provides Tier-1/Tier-2 support of Security Events and proper triage/escalation to resolver support groups
- Training Team Members as needed
Job Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
- Knowledge of common security Tools, Techniques & Technologies (IDS, Firewall, SIEM, DLP etc)
- Knowledge of Security Frameworks and Best Practices including PCI, NIST, ISO, OWASP
- Knowledge of common operating systems (Windows, Linux, iOS, Android, etc)
- Knowledge of network and security protocols and services (TLS, SSL, SSH, etc)
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Good business judgment, with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice by balancing business needs with risks
- Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language
- Is a confident, energetic self-starter, with strong interpersonal skills.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, preferably in the field of Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Science or other related academic field
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Industry standard Information Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM or equivalent required
- AWS Systems Manager Patch Manager a plus
