We are currently seeking K-5 Elementary Teacher for our Oakland International and Caniff Liberty Academy, Michigan locations. This role will promote and nurture the education of students by planning and tailoring courses of study while enhancing an academic effort, and continuously providing a safe environment conducive to learning.

Essential Duties

• Educates students by planning and developing course of study according to curriculum guidelines.
• Develops and presents lesson plans by using a variety of techniques, including lectures, projects, exhibits, field trips, audiovisual and library resources, computers, and the internet.
• Monitors, assists, corrects, and grades student results by preparing assignments and tests for in-school preparation and homework.
• Conducts standardized tests in accordance with district policies and state law.
• Maintains a safe and secure educational environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures.
• Intercepts deterioration in achievement by counseling students with academic difficulties.
• Keeps parents informed by maintaining records of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation during conferences and regularly scheduled meetings as needed.
• Provides student support services by monitoring halls, study and lunchroom periods.
• Stays up to date on educational developments by attending faculty meetings, participating in educational opportunities, and participating in professional organizations.
• Performs related duties as required and requested by supervisor.

• Must have a Bachelor's degree
• Must possess a current Michigan Teaching Certification by the MDE
