Brooks Applied Labs is an analytical chemistry laboratory, located in Seattle, WA, that specializes in trace metals analysis and speciation to support the environmental and pharmaceutical market sectors. As Laboratory Technician, you will be part of the Sample Control team, which is responsible for shepherding client samples from arrival to disposal.

Ideal candidates will possess the following:
- A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Biology or related field (preferred)
- Previous experience in a laboratory setting (preferred)
- Basic math skills
- Good attitude and willingness to work with others
- Good communication and organization skills
- Ability to follow written directions
- Ability to regularly lift 40lbs and stand for periods of up to 8 hours
- Ability to work occasional overtime with little notice

Laboratory Technician duties include: ensuring samples are received, prepared, preserved, and stored appropriately according to internal SOPs and approved EPA handling methods; documenting and communicating receiving issues with Project Managers; preparing and shipping bottle orders and sampling kits for clients; calibration of equipment; lab maintenance and cleaning; preparation of laboratory reagents and solutions; and other duties as assigned.

The pay rate for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 hourly. Full-time employees eligible for the following benefits after a brief waiting period: medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability insurance, 401(k), health and dependent care FSA plans, employee assistance program, 15 days of paid time off per year for sick leave and/or vacation, 3 days paid bereavement leave, and 6 paid holidays per year.
