Casella Construction is looking to hire motivated, safety conscious and energetic Laborers for our Land Clearing Division. This position will be responsible for clearing trees and foliage along utility right or ways using chainsaws, pole saws and other hand tools. This position does require traveling to remote areas of Vermont and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. This is a full-time permanent benefited position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists with equipment operators, this may include jobs such using chainsaw equipment, lifting and dragging brush..
• Cleans jobsite at the end of the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of and materials or equipment are properly stored.
• Assists team with proper equipment care.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:

• Experience using chainsaws, pole saws, axes, winches, ropes and other related hand tools for cutting trees and foliage.
• Knowledge of Herbicides and using a herbicide back pack preferred but not required.
• Ability to listen, understand and follow directions
• Ability to remain flexible as assignments change.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic as needed to count, measure, take inventory and other similar tasks.

Education:

• Prior logging and land clearing experience preferred but not required
• Valid Drivers License preferred but not required
• Ability to participate in regulatory trainings – EHAP, OSHA 10, First Aid / CPR
