Laundry Associate Job at Humane Society of Greater Miami
The Laundry Associate is responsible for the care and handling of towels, sheets, toys, etc. that require washing and/or drying.
Please note that this is a very “physical” job. On a daily basis, it requires the manual lifting of laundry items and storing them on high shelving units.
- Washes, dries, folds, sorts, distributes and stores all linens, towels, beds, toys, etc.
- Distributes bundles of towels, linens, beds etc. neatly to designated areas in a timely manner
- Keeps laundry carts clean and free of debris
- Cleans machines and surrounding areas
- Cleans dryer lint trap and washer filters as needed
- Tracks linen quantity control; reports linens in poor conditions, supply shortages or abundances to supervisor
- Operates washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturers’ guidelines
- Performs light housekeeping duties such as sweeping, moping, dusting and disposing of trash in respective areas
- Maintains laundry area clean, neat and organized
- Restocks supplies in laundry area as needed
- Responsible for collecting, sorting, washing and drying donations and returned foster supplies
- Reports needed repairs or unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor
- Must follow all OSHA guidelines with laundry supplies
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
