Pathways Strategic Teaching Center is a year- round comprehensive education and treatment program, servicing children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other related disorders. Founded in 1988 through a collaborative effort between the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center and local parents of children with autism, Pathways is committed to utilizing scientifically validated teaching methodologies in improving the lives of individuals with ASD and their families.

Pathways education and treatment strategies are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Individually tailored curricula address speech and language, pre-academic and academic skills, daily living and self-care skills, play and social skills, vocational skills, and assessment and treatment of challenging behavior.As a Lead Behavior Technician, you be will responsible for: Supporting children 1:1 with autism & related disordersImplementing instructional strategies and treatment plans utilizing the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)Managing a broad range of needs presented by children with autismImplementing all aspects of childs educational program, including self-care and toiletingCollecting and managing data within individual child measurement systemsAssisting with preparation/implementation of student IEPs and behavioral measurement systemsCoordinating classroom activities when Supervisory Educator is absentAssisting in the preparation/facilitation of student group activitiesCreating/organizing classroom schedule and daily student lesson plans/materialsMonitoring bus/student morning arrival and afternoon departure dailyParticipating in interview process for the Behavior Technician position, as requestedAssisting in the training of newly hired Behavior TechniciansPerforming other duties and job assignments as directedEducation/ Requirements: Associates degree requiredBachelor's degree preferred, specifically in education/special education or related field Three years of experience working with children in a special education classroom or setting preferredMust be amenable to instruction, able to follow specific directions of supervisor(s), and be receptive to feedbackMust be capable and ready to assume leadership duties during working hoursGood interpersonal skills are essentialMust have basic computer knowledgeMust have a valid drivers license, automobile insurance, and own the vehicle to be used, as directed, to provide transportationOur mission is to promote an enhanced quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities.
