Tuesday through Saturday, 3:00pm-11:00pm

Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Union Position


BASIC FUNCTION OF LEAD RESIDENTIAL MONITOR:

Provides supervision of residential clients and for daily oversight of other Monitors. Inspection and monitoring of physical plant/ facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF LEAD RESIDENTIAL MONITOR:

  • Account for all residents at all times through sign out sheets, direct observations/continuous direct supervision of activities within the building and grounds and during any off-grounds activity.
  • Supervise and maintain a safe, secure and orderly environment at all times.
  • Inspect the facility and checks equipment and supplies on a monthly basis and immediately report any corrective action needed.
  • Serve on the Safety Committee.
  • Train and schedule monitors as assigned by the supervisor and monitor their training development.
  • Treat all residents with respect and common courtesy while maintaining appropriate expectations regarding conduct
  • Account for the use of all supplies, food, equipment, etc.
  • Collect urine samples as indicated .
  • Make all log notations and prepare all reports as necessary.
  • Supervise meals, recreation, smoke breaks and all movements in and out of the facility.
  • Supervise sanitation activities and perform inspections.
  • Enforce all program rules in a consistent manner.
  • Inspect all parcels for contraband and search individuals as needed.
  • Transport residents as required.
  • Supervise clients performing community service.
  • Conduct weekly Fire/Safety inspections.
  • Provide input to Residential Manager regarding Monitor evaluations.
  • Assist Residential Manager with Monitor scheduling/coverage.
  • Provide On Call duties as assigned.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS FOR LEAD RESIDENTIAL MONITOR:

  • H.S. diploma required, some college preferred or similar combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum two years experience in social service/helping profession or security work along with experience scheduling and providing oversight to others preferred.
  • Reading/ effective written communication
  • Ability to respond calmly and appropriately in response to angry or aggressive behavior from the residents
  • Good communication skills needed
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Current CT Drivers License
