Line Service (Ground Support)

Reports to: Ground Operations Manager - Zack Wohlart

Summary:

Line service employees are on the front lines of customer service and safety, interacting face-to-face with students, employees and transient aircraft occupants. They operate the fuel trucks and work closely alongside the Dispatch Department to provide efficient fuel and oil service for Epic and visiting aircraft. They direct pilots by marshaling and then towing aircraft if needed. Line service also included assisting transient crew and passengers with services such as rental car reservations, and baggage handling. In addition, line service maintains Epic facilities, including aircraft and building cleaning as well general landscaping around our facilities.

Responsibilities:

● Ensure aircraft are designated and accessible for scheduled activities
● Ensure aircraft are properly fueled for scheduled activities
● Maintain safety of the the aircraft fleet and other resources on the field
● Provide students and employees with safe, clean, productive environments
● Coordinate transient aircraft arrivals, stays and departures

Duties:

● Drive Epic fuel truck and provide fuel and oil to both Epic aircraft and transient aircraft

● Indicate aircraft parking locations and direct pilots using appropriate hand signals
● Tow aircraft to indoor and outdoor parking spaces, and wash Epic aircraft as needed
● Bill and invoice transient aircraft services
● Maintain open lines of communication with dispatch and scheduling
● Stay up to date on aircraft fueling/flight activity schedule
● Make sure all aircraft are securely and properly tied down.

● Safely travel across airport taxiways when delivering fuel/services to transient aircraft

● Assist transient aircraft crew and passengers with rentals cars, food services and baggage

● Cleaning facilities regularly and as needed (trash, sanitize/clean surfaces, clean restroom, vacuum, mop etc…)

● Conduct minor facility repairs and report larger issues to the appropriate department.

● Landscape Epic property (mowing, weed-eating, laying mulch etc…
● Follow protocol for safe operation of equipment used for aircraft and ground operations
● Write and submit safety report forms as necessary

Key Performance Indicators:

● Aircraft have appropriate fuel and oil levels for scheduled activities
● Epic campus grounds and facilities are visually appealing and ready for flight training
● Proper use of safety equipment i.e reflective vests,headlamps , safety goggles
● Operations equipment remain in working condition i.e fuel truck , tractor , etc.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
● Valid Driver’s license
● Basic tool knowledge
● Ability to work in elements of the environment
● Ability to positively interact with customers/students
● Ability to manage your time wisely to accomplish tasks in a timely manner
● Ability to communicate between different departments to effectively achieve one goal

Preferred Qualifications:

● Customer service experience
● Landscaping experience
● Handyman experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to find. Handle or feel: reach with hands and arms , and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk and stoop, knee or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee is regularly required to handle hazardous materials such as: oil,fuel,grease,solvents,and sealants. THe employee is frequently exposed to loud engine noises.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
