Job Purpose:
Installs, rebuilds, and repairs locks, key systems and door hardware for Sycuan Casino Resort Property.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)

  • Installs, repairs, rebuilds, and services mechanical or electrical locking devices by disassembling safe locks, and door locks, replacing hotel door readers, initializing reader after replacing hardware, repairing or replacing worn tumblers, springs, and other parts, inserting new or repaired tumblers into lock to change combination, using key cutting machine, to cut new or duplicate keys (Non Duplicate Sensitive Keys), moving lockpick in cylinder to open door locks without keys, drilling, opening and replacing safe locks, and interpreting, developing and maintaining master keying guide.
  • Maintains and organizes parts inventory by receiving and labeling ordered parts and door hardware, placing parts and hardware on designated shelves, logging and accounting for parts and hardware received and used, and analyzing logs to determine frequency of use and need for replacement.
  • Maintains safe work and storage area by cleaning and organizing designated storage area, storing tools and materials, repairing or replacing old or broken tools following established procedure, and following established safety standards while using tools.
  • As a backup for Director of Security and/or Administration Assistant issues key watcher codes and ready keys access to casino department staff as needed, updates and prints ready key and key watcher access reports, deletes access when team members transfer or resign. Audits reports to ensure accuracy of assigned personnel following established procedures.
Job Specifications:
Education and Experience:
Essential:
  • Certification and/or License from Certified Registered Locksmith with Associated Locksmiths of America or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in a large hospitality property
Desirable:

  • Associate's Degree
  • Hospitality experience
Skills and Knowledge:
Essential:
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair wired and wireless electronic locking systems
  • Ability to use a variety of machinery and tools, such as key cutting machines and drills
  • Ability to cut and issue keys, re-key, install, and repair locks and hardware
  • Ability to interpret, implement, and maintain pre-defined Master key systems
  • Possess a strong understanding of various types of locking systems and hardware
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair both mechanical locking and electronic access control devices
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use tools and manipulate locking devices
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
  • Ability to operate power tools
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and measurements
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism
  • Ability to interact effectively with team members and guests
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • Ability to work in a smoking environment
  • Ability to appear for work on time and in proper attire
  • Communication and social skills to interact with customers

Desirable:
  • Working knowledge of Dorma Kabba, Assa Abloy, Ving, Saflok, and Tyco (Stanley) RFID and BLE on-line locking systems
