Our Collins Aerospace York, NE site is a manufacturer of highly engineered precision components supporting both commercial and military customers. Manufactured components are used primarily in generators and Ram Air Turbines (RAT) used for aircraft emergency power generation. Our Ram Air Turbines have been used to save aircrafts and over 2,000 lives.

Collins York is looking for a Logistics Manager responsible for the day-to-day supervision of warehouse operations and staff with some production planning responsibilities. Majority of the work is done in a clean, climate-controlled facility where we put safety and quality first in everything we do.

The work associated with this position will be performed onsite in York, NE.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for warehouse operations including but not limited to shop floor and workforce supervision, performance, scheduling, discipline, attendance, safety and quality.
  • Able to apply CORE, lean and other continuous improvement techniques to develop and implement process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing quality, reducing cost, and enhancing delivery integrity.
  • Align with RTX Corporate on the Logistics Strategy and execute at the site level
  • Establishes Maturity Scorecards for the preferred carriers
  • Manages Annual Survey (MFA) for preferred carriers
  • Supports business unit logistics site reviews
  • Works with logistics supply base and internal stakeholders/colleagues to plan and execute risk mitigation actions
  • Works chronic or acute Transportation issues as escalated to the Central Team by the Carriers or the SBU/Site Logistics Leads
  • Supports various projects that result in Synergy Savings, Smart Shipping Savings, and Service improvements such as TMS.
  • Conducts cycle counts and records results
  • Manages the planning and commit process for in-source work
  • Participates in developing strategies for materials planning and SIOP
  • Participates in establishing clear and robust metrics to measure progress through process improvements for SIOP

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Industrial Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
  • APICS CPIM Certification preferred
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Material Requirement Planning and SAP
  • An understanding of the application and concepts of Production and Planning Control fundamentals including MRP, Inventory Management, Capacity Planning, Scheduling, and Lean Manufacturing
  • Material planning and order execution experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of government contracting requirements

Onsite:
Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
