JOB TITLE: Maintenance Assistant
DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM: Maintenance
RATIONALE: The Maintenance Assistant shall be responsible for all facets of maintenance at HRC to include but not limited to
repair, inspections, and preventative maintenance of building exterior and interior, heating and cooling systems,
boilers/ water softeners, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, laundry and workshop machinery, plumbing fixtures,
security systems, office furnishings, grounds maintenance, vehicle inspection/maintenance, and other equipment
or mechanicals.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Maintenance Director
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
PAY GRADE LEVEL: I-III
EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt
HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday and
PRN (as needed)
AVAILABLE: 3/17/2023
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent;
2. Ability to repair/maintain buildings,
machinery/equipment and/or arrange for same;
3. Ability to represent the agency in a positive manner;
4. Ability to pass all required background checks;
5. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. One or more years’ experience in maintenance of
machinery;
2. Ability to work independently and with good organizational
skills;
3. Demonstrated ability to work positively with consumers,
staff, families, and the community;
4. Ability to complete First Aid and CPR certification within 60
days of employment;
5. Driver’s license and good driving record;
6. Ability to document and organize and prioritize information
regarding repair, internal inspections, and preventative
maintenance;
7. Awareness of equipment maintenance requirements and
applicable health and safety standard
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (can be met with or without reasonable accommodations)
1. Stand 41-75% of the time;
2. Walk and/or sit 11-40% of the time;
3. Lift up to 50 pounds, 41-75% of the time;
4. Climb ladders and/or stairs 11-40% of the time;
5. Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, bend 41-75% of the time;
6. Reach overhead and in front of the body 11-40% of the
time;
7. Simultaneous use of hand, wrist, and fingers, 41-75% of the
time;
8. Drive/operate mowers 41-75% of the time;
9. Ordinary talking and hearing 41-75% of the time;
10. Work inside and outside with dust and noise 11-40% of the
time.
