Maintenance Technician I:
Summary:
Provide multi-craft (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) support to assigned packaging line team including operating, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs needed to deliver world class results in the key areas of Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Cost and Teamwork.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

TECHNICAL & OPERATIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Maintenance Tech I:
  • Participates in developing and assisting in communicating short-range and medium-range maintenance plans for their packaging lines.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Lead to lead the Maintenance repair on assigned lines.
  • Monitor equipment uptime and maintenance response time and initiate improvement plans when necessary.
  • Support Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing activities on their lines.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to internal customers.
  • Ensure compliance with established standards and procedures involving safety, quality, sanitation, good manufacturing policies, lean manufacturing and other plant programs.
  • Communicate, interact and follow up with co-worker to build and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Determine root cause of equipment failure and implement improvement plans.
  • Determine the best way to accomplish maintenance tasks while limiting disruption to production.
  • Operates and Changes Over Packaging Line Equipment as needed.
  • Provide solutions to reduce change over time.
  • Develop Center lining for Packaging Line Equipment
SAFETY:
  • Understands and is accountable for full compliance with company local and Global EHS Policies and programs (i.e., PPE, HAZCOM, Lockout Tag Out, process safety, etc.)
  • Participation in EHS programs (i.e., Behavior Safety Observations, near miss reporting, etc.)
  • Timely completion of all EHS training
  • Accurate and timely completion of Inspections, reports and forms required to comply with EHS rules and regulations
  • Where required, additional EHS training such as Hazardous Waste and/or HAZWOPER. Training will be provided in order for the employee to fulfill the requirement of his/her position.
  • Participate when needed in EHS internal/external audits and/or regulatory inspections
  • Active participation during incident investigations and promoting all safety activities/events
PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS & CONDITIONS
  • Able and willing to work overtime, when the business needs additional support.
  • Must be able to:
  • Stand and walk for up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Lift up to 25lbs frequently.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, twisting, turning in performance of duties.
  • Walking, standing and climbing stairs and crossovers are common.
  • Work is indoors and temperatures are seasonably normal for factory/production operations.
  • Proper use of PPE is always required.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in a team-based manufacturing environment; on high speed packaging equipment preferred.
  • Associates and/or Bachelor"s degree in the mechanical and/or electrical disciplines is a plus.
  • Must be knowledgeable of preventative maintenance techniques and have the ability to develop and work PM crew to improve preventive maintenance programs from vendor manuals
  • Strong mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, or reliability maintenance background is desired Welding and Machining is a plus.
  • Consistently meets and occasionally exceeds production goals in a safe manner that emphasizes quality to our customers.
Application and facilitation of continuous improvement tools, TPM, 5S, FMEA, etc.
