This position is responsible for supporting the food manufacturing process ensuring around the clock coverage by performing daily plant rounds, promoting and utilizing the work order & preventative maintenance systems, troubleshooting problems with pumps, motors, valves, heat exchangers & systems. Other responsibilities include replacing and repairing dysfunctional or inefficient equipment and support of the Engineering group.

This position is a night shift position. Shifts are 12 hours; 6:00pm-6:00am. The work week is a 36/48 hour work week. This position will require holiday and weekend shifts. Only those willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays should apply.

Major Accountabilities:

-Daily water treatment tests to ensure proper preventative maintenance of open and closed cooling and heating loops.

-Identify/correct problems with pumps, motors, valves, heat exchangers.

-Display welding and fabricating skills.

-Utilize preventative maintenance systems by planning daily activities with production.

-Basic shop tool experience, (i.e., drill press operation, cutting operation, and grinding, power tool operation), familiarity with centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, gear box and pump rebuilding experience, electrical trouble shooting abilities (i.e., 110, 220, 480 volts exp.), 3-phase motor troubleshooting/change-out exp., motor circuit troubleshooting ability, pneumatic experience (i.e., valves, compressors) will all be necessary.

-Full utilization of the plant computerized maintenance management system for organization of work and collection of data.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate must possess at least two years recent industrial Maintenance work experience as an industrial mechanic, maintenance apprentice, or equivalent. The applicant must have specific hands-on work experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. The candidate must also possess knowledge of automated equipment and OSHA required Safety training as well as previous experience welding, fabricating, and working with pumps, valves, and motors. The candidate must be organized and dependable, have demonstrated problem solving ability, good written and verbal communication skills.

Previous experience in ammonia refrigeration, steam systems, electrical, stainless steel welding, fabrication of sanitary and process piping as well as food plant experience is preferred.

Physical demands require the ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders and stairs, and use mechanical power and hand tools.
