Objective: Responsible for providing leadership to the CBIZ Licensing team to ensure compliance with all applicable state and territory licensing regulatory requirements for producers and corporate entities. Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize licensing processes by evaluating trends, reviewing updates, and addressing issues of compliance for the Company’s producers and entities. Deliver effective communication and advisement on compliance strategies.
· Oversee the CBIZ Licensing team and Surplus Lines Tax team to ensure timely compliance with all insurance licensing regulatory requirements for producers and corporate entities.
· Deliver effective communication and advisement on compliance strategies with all insurance licensees to ensure compliance, timely renewals and filings, and timely procurement of new licenses.
· Collaborate with all levels of staff, including upper management, to actively improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department, and to implement standardized best practices and streamline processes.
· Identify system and reporting tools, including outsourcing solutions that will facilitate compliance and improve efficiency.
· Audit licensing processes to confirm timely and complete filings and assist with resolving regulatory issues.
· Attend appropriate insurance licensing industry conferences and meetings to maintain current knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and requirements. Develop external relationships with regulators and industry leaders to facilitate CBIZ’s ongoing compliance.
· Contribute to due diligence efforts on M&A prospects.
· Contribute to integration of acquisitions and their employees.
· Advise on branding and naming of organizations and divisions within CBIZ to ensure compliance with regulations.
· Provide direction to CBIZ Licensing team on updates and maintenance of the licensing page on the intranet site and provide accessible support for all licensees.
· Manage licensing staff, including staff performance reviews.
· Maintain effective job descriptions for each role on the team.
· Monitor and stay current on pending and actual changes to licensing regulations.
· Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Five (5) or more years of related work experience in the insurance industry
· Managerial experience preferred

· Verbal and written communication skills
· Problem solving, prioritization, and time management skills
· Strong leadership skills
· Strong interpersonal skills to maintain good working relationships
· Ability to build partnerships at all levels and to coordinate the activities of cross-functional groups
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
