POSITION: Manager of Assessment (2023-2024 School Year)
LOCATION: Home Office
SALARY: Starting at $68,000 - $76,160 with up to six years of aligned experience
STATUS: Full time, benefits eligible, exempt, in-person position (Denver, CO); Year by Year role based on continuation of Literacy Intervention program for strategic planning

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary function of the Manager of Assessment is to help lead the successful management of DSST assessments across contents and improve the quality of classroom level formative and summative assessments by use of various platforms and best practices.
  • Administer the Assessment Vision for DSST Public Schools
  • Manage network wide assessment administration windows and support home office planning and execution of assessments across content areas. These assessments include internal assessments (i.e. Interim Assessments, Final Exams, Performance Assessments), external assessments (i.e. CMAS, PSAT/SAT, ANET, iReady), and other assessment processes (norming and calibration of student writing assessments).
  • Support a team of content managers at the Home Office to create high quality assessments and Final Exams that are administered uniformly to all middle school and high school students to produce valid and reliable assessment data that drives student achievement.
  • Execute highly effective systems that can be used across schools and the Home Office for assessment administration.
  • Reviewing, editing, and transferring pre-written assessment content into Edulastic, DSST’s assessment platform.
  • Manages the auditing process of final exams before administration.
  • Execute a detailed plan to ensure that assessments in Edulastic meet stringent standards for quality.
  • Correct for gaps in the automated test transfer process by tagging standards to questions, updating formatting, and other steps as necessary to ensure tests in Edulastic are ready for delivery to teachers and students
  • Support during testing windows for iReady, ANet, PSAT/SAT, Access, state assessments, IAs/Finals in the form of:
    • Office hours
    • Teams calls
  • Hold office hours outside of testing windows to provide additional support for teachers
  • Support content teams and teachers with the assessment cycle in Edulastic to build infrastructure to
    • increase meaningful usage and familiarity with the platform
    • build capacity for formative assessment creation and data analysis
  • Provide assessment support related to modifying tests for students who need accommodations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • At least 2 years experience with school or network level leadership
  • Must have experience in using Edulastic and other assessment platforms
  • 5+ years teaching experience
  • Must have experience with design and use of formative and summative assessments created at the classroom level to drive responses to data
  • Must demonstrate experience in effectively organizing project plans and executing plans to completion
  • Must demonstrate experience effectively facilitating professional development
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Background with intervention programming and administering diagnostic assessments is preferred
  • 7+ Years teaching experience preferred
  • 3+ years in ReadAct

DSST Public Schools (DSST) operates a network of tuition-free, open-enrollment public STEM charter schools. DSST schools operate within the Denver Public Schools (DPS) and Aurora Public Schools (APS) districts. Our schools focus on building a community where students and staff are valued for their unique talents.
