Manufacturing Engineer

Norton Rixson is currently seeking an assertive, organized and results-oriented individual to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer. Requirements for the manufacturing engineer position are:

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the execution of current, updated, and new electro-mechanical product designs to ensure effective product manufacturability and to meet company objectives.
• Develop and direct procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained for door closers and electro-mechanical products.
• Provide engineering support in the areas of continuous improvement, and quality adherence.
• Ensure, develop, and maintain efficient product and production flow throughout facility.
• Revise, Update, and Implement cell layouts for optimum efficiency.
• Support Management with departmental action plans to achieve the Company’s long-term goals.
• Maintains high standards of performance, quality, and customer service.
• Ensure assigned areas have a 5S score that is the model for the plant.
• Works with a certain degree of creativity and latitude to improve technology within assigned areas.
• Coordinate activities utilizing a Lean process.
• Manage day to day project tasks and coordinate with cross-functional team activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• BS in Mechanical or similar Engineering technical major
• Min of 5 years practical experience in a manufacturing environment and in an engineering role.
• Experience with electro-mechanical controls/technology
• Previous project management experience or certification
• Problem solving, analysis and resolution at a functional level.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing environments
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Detail oriented, multi-tasked and a team player
• Experience in supervising teams in a high pace environment
• Experience with JDE a plus
