Job Summary: Pier 7 Marina is seeking a highly organized and skilled professional to join our team as an Operations Manager and Dock Master. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of our facility, as well as managing all dock-related activities. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations, maintaining safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of operational processes.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate all operational activities, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation, to ensure efficient and effective day-to-day operations.
• Manage dock operations, including the movement of vessels, coordination of docking and undocking procedures, and allocation of docking spaces.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective measures as needed.
• Train and supervise dock staff, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to protocols.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance, customer service, and administration, to streamline processes and optimize operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for dock operations, ensuring consistency and adherence to industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to operational activities.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement of necessary supplies, equipment, and resources.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and requests in a professional and timely manner, ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations of staff, providing coaching and mentoring to foster growth and development.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and advancements, making recommendations for operational improvements and innovations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a marine or waterfront environment.
• Strong knowledge of dock operations, vessel handling, and safety protocols.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively.
• Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals, including staff, customers, and vendors.
• Proficiency in using operational software and systems.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, permits, and licensing requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
