Job Description:

We are now seeking candidates to fill a Marketing and Sales Specialist position.

From your first day, you will be part of an engaged and customer-focused team! You will help support Farm Credit of the Virginia’s mission and business plan by working with the marketing team and internal and external resources to develop and implement marketing and communications strategies for the organization.

Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Assists with the development plans, and implements the Association’s marketing initiatives for young, beginning, small, minority and veteran farmers.
  • Collaborates with the marketing team, internal and external resources for asset and campaign development and implementation.
  • Manages the Association events, sponsorships and tradeshows.
  • Manages the event assets inventory and oversees development and procurement of new material and promotional inventory.
  • Develops cross selling opportunities for the Association’s crop insurance, leasing, Farm Credit Xpress and other affiliate marketing programs and services.
  • Completes assigned additional tasks and special projects and meetings, including customer engagement events, business plan projects, lead generation, training sessions, promotional orders, market research, member referral and e mployee meetings.

Required Qualifications:
  • Driver’s license for work related travel.
  • Four years of relevant experience in a business environment. Knowledge of lending and sales preferred.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people and demonstrates excellent communication and people skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrated creative, proofreading and editing experience.
  • Builds internal and external networks; understands trends impacting the business.
  • Analyzes issues; pro duces effective, practical decisions and solutions.
  • Effective project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and develop accurate project time estimates
  • Has working knowledge of MS Office. General knowledge of the rural communities we serve.
  • Availability to travel for onsite farm and branch office visits and training.
  • Availability to work outside normal business hours.
