Job Description

Hatfield and Company is looking for a Material Handler in our Houston, TX office. The Warehouse Team is responsible for Customer Service – via safely receiving, packaging, and shipping customer orders daily from our warehouse. The position is fast paced and physically demanding as orders are filled constantly throughout the day. Position requires interaction and daily communication with Material Handler team, as well as the Inside & Outside Sales Group to ensure proper Customer Service.

Responsibilities

• Safety – Follow all safety processes
• Communication – Willing & able to communicate with all levels of management including Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Accounting & Operations
• Computer skills – Basic computer experience
• Receive material & coordinate daily shipments via – FedEx, Truck, UPS, or hot shot delivery service
• Packing list – Read, comprehend & follow instructions for shipment
• Stock, Pick & Pack Orders accurately
• Must be able to prioritize & multi-task
• Cycle counts – Perform weekly cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy
• Variances – Resolve count issues with lost and/or missing items
• Material handling – Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
• Housekeeping – Maintain cleanliness & inventory of warehouse
• Customer Service – Any additional activities as determined by Company to improve our Customer Service

Qualifications

• Experience – Two (2) years shipping experience is preferred
• Team Player – Upbeat, friendly attitude & works hard
• Attention to Detail
• Ability to work quickly & accurately in a fast-paced environment
• A creative problem solver who can take direction as well as suggest solutions
• Initiative – Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Environment – Ability to stand during scheduled hours and work in hot & cold climate as dictated by weather
• Forklift – Experience & certification for the operation of a Class 4 fork lift is preferred
• Driver License – Must have a valid TX Driver License
• Overtime – Be able to work overtime, when necessary
• Background – Must be able to pass background check & operate in a drug-free workplace
